Lesson activities that can be used in any lesson across secondary education. Tried and tested by the Hectic Teacher

Welcome to the Hectic Teacher Website

The Books

The Hectic Teacher is a series of three books which look at different ways of incorporating active and independent learning into lessons and tutorials across all areas of the curriculum and all key stages. It also suggests strategies for creating a good work/life balance. The aim of the books isn't to tell you how to do a job you have been trained to do but to inspire you and enliven your lessons and tutorials to make them more creative and enjoyable for both you and your students.  All activities, tutorials and strategies suggested are ones that I employ in my own lessons and with my own tutor group so I know that they work in a real life setting.

The Author

After qualifying to teach I worked in London as a PSHE and Citizenship teacher for 4 years, where I was able to expand my teaching experience to cover history, RE and sociology as well. This diversification continued when I moved to an International School in Europe and started teaching psychology and global perspectives. It was during a break from teaching that I decided to develop a booklet of activities into the Hectic Teacher Books. I still continue to teach at secondary and sixth form level and test out the activities on my unsuspecting but throughly amused classes.
